Cursive Handwriting

"I saw That Bad handwriting
should be regarded as a sign
of an imperfect education."

- Mahatma Gandhi

What is Cursive Handwriting?

Cursive Handwriting is joined-up writing so one does not lift the pen off the paper until the end of the word and hence Cursive has a flow in contrast to Print style in which letters are written mostly separately.

Cursive Versus Print?

Research has strongly suggested that Cursive Handwriting improves neural connections and stimulates the whole brain improving the interplay between left and right cerebral hemispheres responsible for mental effectiveness. This further accounts for the correlation between academic performance across all subjects and good handwriting. This is aside from the benefits of an attractive, legible style and great aesthetic value.

Why Learn It At A Young Age?

It is always advisable to begin teaching skills such as Cursive from Day One as the stress afterwards for the child is so much more because they have to unlearn and relearn ! As a general principle young age is most receptive to learning new skills. The earlier we begin, the better.
